At Preclinical Translational Services, we know that evaluating therapies in subjects already affected by the targeted disease process provides a cost and time effective strategy for bringing new compounds to clinical trials or to market. Furthermore, the assessment of already-compromised individuals in a specified study cohort can further illuminate underlying mechanisms of disease pathogenesis.
Our experienced team of investigators has developed study cohorts of nonhuman primates with pre-existing atherosclerosis, obesity, and diabetes. These cohorts are available for preclinical trials. We can assist you with studies using these established cohorts, or we can develop additional disease state cohorts (e.g., aging, arthritis, hypertension, osteoporosis) to meet your specific needs.
Available Study Cohort Populations
- Cynomolgus macaques (Macaca fascicularis) – obesity, diabetes, atherosclerosis
- Caribbean-origin African green monkeys (Chlorocebus aethiops) – obesity, diabetes, aging
